Hi, I’m Lesley, a marriage and funeral celebrant and the founder of L & M Funeral Planning. I started this service after experiencing my own loss and grief when my dad passed away. Through that deeply personal journey, I realised how much families need support in planning a meaningful farewell, one that truly honours a loved one’s legacy, life story, and wishes.

Even as a celebrant, someone who guides others through life’s milestones, I found it incredibly hard to navigate my loss. In my moments of grief, I saw how important it was for my loved ones to focus on being together, sharing memories, and supporting one another, rather than stressing over the funeral planning process.

Yet, having that knowledge, when the time came, we were left uncertain, unsure of what truly mattered to my dad, how he wanted to be remembered, or what words would have captured his essence. I wish we had someone whom my dad and our family could have worked with beforehand to pre-plan a personalised funeral ceremony that genuinely reflected his story, relieving the burden and allowing us the space to simply grieve his loss.

That experience made it clear to me that funeral pre-planning can relieve the emotional and logistical burden on grieving families while ensuring that each person’s life and legacy are celebrated in the way they deserve—in their own words, with their wishes guiding the way.

That’s why I started L&M Funeral Planning: to provide peace of mind and offer a service that empowers individuals to shape a memorial, celebration of life, funeral ceremony, or create a memoir that truly reflects their story, values, and legacy.

Since my dad’s passing, it has been my mission to help others so that when the time comes, families can focus on what truly matters: being together, sharing love, and celebrating a life well-lived. With a thoughtfully prepared farewell, funeral, memorial, or life celebration—crafted in their own words, loved ones can find comfort knowing everything has been arranged with care. Whether it’s creating a memoir to leave as a legacy or shaping a story that can be transformed into a heartfelt eulogy, I’m here to help ensure every life is honoured meaningfully.
